Handmade Jewellery Information and FAQ

How can I contact you? Visit the Contact page for all the contact details. We are open 7 days a week so you will usually receive a prompt reply to an email even on the weekend.

Descriptions - Sizes are approximate and where shown for the earrings do not include the ear fittings. Please note that the jewelry is individually handmade so every piece will have a slight variation. All jewellery is solid sterling silver 925 or higher grade silver. No plated items are sold. Bracelets are 20cm (8") necklaces 44cm (17.25") approx size unless made to measure. If you need a specially made to measure item please email the size you require or add it into the message box when you pay. All pendants come complete with a sterling silver 925 hallmarked chain.

Postage and Packing - All Orders £2.00 per item UK. For International orders add the additional fee for your Zone see Misc Page. (See conversion chart below for other currencies)

Dispatch - Orders are dispatched the same day if ordered before midday or next day if purchased after midday. An email will be sent confirming receipt of your order as soon as possible and to let you know when your parcel will be dispatched. If your order will delayed you will be notified and given a date to expect delivery. Orders are only dispatched on receipt of cleared funds. Items sent to UK addresses by first class recorded delivery and by tracked postage if sent elsewhere. If you require next day guaranteed delivery in the UK (order before midday for same day dispatch) add the Special Delivery fee extra £3 (See Misc Page). Certain countries are excluded from worldwide dispatch where normal postal services are not possible. Orders are sent to the address given however if you prefer an item to be sent to a work or other address please email as soon as possible after purchase or add a note in the message box when paying. We will always confirm the address by email. Once a delivered receipt is obtained from the postal service the item is considered to be in your posession therefore if you use a shared mailbox it is recommended that you pay for the special delivery service and arrange to be available to receive the delivery as items signed for by third parties at the address given are your responsibility.

How long will it take the jewellery to arrive? Approximate delivery times - UK 1-2 days, - Western Europe 3 days,Eastern Europe 4 days - USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand 5 days, Rest of the World please ask. Special delivery guarantees next day delivery to the UK by 1pm or 9am (see Misc Page)

When will my purchase be dispatched if I order over a weekend ? Any orders taken over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday or Saturday if possible.

Returns - When you buy your handmade silver jewellery from us we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Items may be returned for a full refund if notified to us within 3 days of receipt of order and must be returned in their original packaging and in their original condition to us within 10 days (UK) 14days (Worldwide) with the returns authorization code provided. Postage costs are direct costs so will not be refunded.This does not affect your statutory rights. The buyer is responsible for the return shipping costs and assumes responsibility for loss. Returns can be either for exchange or refund. Mother's Day Gifts can be returned by 22nd March

I am buying for a gift can you extend the return period and send the item to my friend? Yes the time can be extended on request please just drop us an email to request this extension.We can gift wrap the item with your personal message on a gift card and send the item direct to the recipient. You can purchase an item from within or outside the UK and we will send it gift wrapped with your message to another address saving you the extra postage costs and time (see Misc Page). No details of price are included in the parcel when sent to a third party.

Can I also return earrings for refund? Yes all items can be returned for refund or exchange. For reasons of hygiene earrings are not sold on however we want all of our customers to be happy with their purchase so the same refund policy applies to all items. See returns above for full details.

How do I purchase from this shop? See the How to Order Jewellery Page for full details. Simply add to the basket items you wish to buy, it is possible to delete from the basket then pay via the secure server.

Sizing of Bracelets - A standard length will be approximately 20cm (8"). If you require a different length please indicate when you purchase or by email directly after making the purchase. (You can measure your wrist using a piece of string, find a suitable fit then measure the string to find the length if you are ordering a wide bangle use a piece of thin card and wrap it round your wrist to get an accurate measurement) Items already purchased can be re-sized free of charge (except postage £5 per item UK or £7 outside the UK).

Is everything on this website in stock? - Yes unless there is a note by the add to cart button to allow time for delivery which applies to some Tiaras and on occassion a few other items.

Do pendants come with chains?- All pendants include a 16" sterling silver 925 chain or 18" chain if indicated.

How is the jewellery packaged? - Jewellery arrives in a presentation box most are black velvet with the logo printed inside and some are black card depending on the size of the item.

I have lost an earring can you make another one? - Usually this is possible please email to check first then send back the original to be copied. One earring is charged at half the price of the pair plus p+p.

I have seen a piece of jewellery I like but would like to be given more of an idea of size before purchase. Contact us with the reference number and we will be happy to provide more measurements and if required send a photo to you of the item next to something you can relate to visually eg coins

My item has arrived but needs altering? - Alterations are done free of charge however p+p is chargeable please send a cheque with the item or pay via the website Misc page for £5 (£7 outside the UK) and the alteration will usually be done the day it is received and posted back to you the following day.

Commissions,Bespoke, Specially made to measure Service - If you would like a particular item but with a different gemstone, or have something particular in mind please ask as all items can be handmade to order and a photograph emailed for approval before purchase. No extra charge is made for this service and there is no obligation to purchase.

There is so much jewellery on this site I am a bit lost - There is a search this site facility on the bottom of this page or you may find the sitemap at the bottom of each shop page useful to find your way around. The shop pages can be browsed by clicking on the next buttons which will go through all the shop pages in a loop. You may wish to add items to the basket as you are browsing as they can be deleted later. This will allow you to revisit the items you have noted by using the reference numbers in the search box facility on this page.

I saw something on the website but can't find it now? - Most items are limited edition but if you saw something and it is no longer on the site please ask as it may still be possible to make another item in a similar style.

Will you post to Forces BFPO addresses? - Yes we can send gifts to BFPO addresses or direct to a relative or friend with gift wrapping see Misc Page.

Children's Hand made Jewellery - Pendants can be made to order with smaller 14" chains. Please ensure if jewellery is bought for children that they are supervised at all times as there are small parts which could be dangerous to children.

Continental Ear Fittings - Continental or stud fittings can be substituted for the hook wires at an extra cost (see below). White Gold fittings are also available as replacements.(See Misc Page)

Cleaning, Care and Storage of Handcrafted Silver Jewellery- Handmade Silver Jewelry can be cleaned using a cloth such as Town Talk or Goddards Silver Polishing Cloth (see Misc page). Do not dip items as this may damage the gems. Silver Chains can be dipped if separated from the pendant. It is recommended that if items are not being worn that they are kept in a sealed plastic bag as exposure to air quickens the tarnishing of silver. Items that are worn regularly should not tarnish quickly. You may wash items in warm water with a little washing up liquid and dry with a kitchen towel. Be sure to air dry for a few hours before returning to the plastic bag.

What is the best way to store silver jewellery? In an airtight re-sealable plastic bag when completely dry. Half seal the bag then squeeze the remaining air out before sealing to remove as much air as possible.
